Changes in Latitudes
Changes in Latitudes
2010
Welcome to the photo journal of my sailing trials and tribulations.
My first sailing experience came later in life than most sailors; 34 to be exact. And it wasn’t by choice mind you. It was brought to me courtesy of the Leadership Seminar in my Executive MBA program at the University of Denver. Take 40 type-A Executive MBA’s from Denver with zero sailing experience, give them a 2 hour classroom lesson on sailing, mix in 35’ sailboats, a little sunshine on San Diego bay, a few races, then sit back and watch the ensuing chaos! Challenging? Yes. Fun? Most definitely.
Fast forward 4 years later with my next sailing experience being once again in association with the DU Executive MBA program during my second time around (don’t ask...). The difference though was that after this three-day adventure in San Diego, I was hooked. Now I am an ASA Certified Sailor able to Captain 50’ sailboats.
Many thanks to my trusted friends who were, and continue to be for some strange reason, willing to place their lives in my capable hands on the open seas. (Alright, most of the time they’re capable hands. Just forget about the unintentional 360...)
Enjoy the images and happy sailing!

Any damn fool can navigate the world sober. It takes a really good sailor to do it drunk....
